Who Qualifies for the Disability Tax Credit?
The Disability Tax Credit (DTC) is designed to help Canadians who experience significant difficulty performing essential daily activities due to a physical or mental impairment. Eligibility depends on how your condition affects your ability to function in everyday life.
To qualify, you must experience severe and prolonged difficulty with one or more of the following Basic Activities of Daily Living (BADL):

Difficulty walking long distances, needing rest breaks, or requiring mobility aids
Feeding

Dressing
Difficulty with buttons, zippers, or putting on clothing due to limited mobility
Speaking
Impaired speech or difficulty being understood
Hearing
